George Michael’s final partner has left fans of the late singer perturbed and angry after he posted a string of tweets in which he said he was prepared to sell any of Michael’s former possessions, and speak to the press for money, as he struggles to survive financially after his long-term lover’s death.

In the emotional series of tweets, 44-year-old hairdresser Fadi Fawaz, who was Michael’s boyfriend for the last seven years of his life and the person who discovered his body on Christmas Day 2016, wrote: “I am done with being respectful towards George Michael or the rest... And no I won’t get a job.”

It was reported in March that the late star’s possessions were among items being seized from Fawaz after he failed to pay off a £513 debt.

Fawaz is said to have met Michael in 2009, shortly after George split with Kenny Goss, whom he had been with for 13 years.

However, there have been consistent reports of conflict between Fawaz and Michael’s family.

The tweets prompted an outpouring of comment from Michael fans, with some accusing Fawaz of being a money-grabber, while others were sympathetic to his plight.
