On the one-year anniversary of the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman's mother chided the media for promoting a "false narrative" about her son, and the justice system for feeding into it. "The justice system failed us as Americans, and as a consequence an innocent man was arrested for a crime he did not commit, solely to placate the masses," Gladys Zimmerman wrote in a two-page letter publicized via her other son's Twitter account. Zimmerman was charged in February with second-degree murder. He's pleaded not guilty and will argue that he shot Martin in self-defense in court this June.
