President Donald Trump’s legal team reportedly made contact with Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office the morning after BuzzFeed News published a report claiming Mueller had evidence indicating President Trump pushed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress, CNN reports. Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, told CNN that Trump’s legal team made contact with Mueller’s office on Friday morning. Giuliani also told Fox News there was an “ultimate agreement that a significant portion of the BuzzFeed article was false.” Mueller's office issued a statement refuting the article on Friday evening, calling the “characterizations” of the evidence BuzzFeed claimed Mueller had was “not accurate.” According to CNN, the statement was “drafted internally” inside Mueller’s office and it was the office's decision to release it.
