President Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said Thursday that “the American people would revolt” if Trump were impeached. During the same interview with Sky News, conducted on a golf course in Scotland, Giuliani called Trump’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen a “liar.” When asked if if Trump could be impeached, the former NYC mayor replied: “Hardly. I think it’s inevitable that he won’t.” He continued: “You have this Cohen guy. He doesn’t know anything about Russian collusion, doesn’t know anything about obstruction. He’s a massive liar. If anything, it’s turned very much in the president’s favor.” Giuliani also said that “everything Cohen’s said has been disproved,” and maintained that the president did not collude with the Russians or obstruct justice. In a plea deal earlier this week, Cohen pleaded guilty to campaign finance, tax and bank fraud charges. The former Trump fixer said that he paid off two women before the 2016 election at Trump’s direction for “the principal purpose of influencing the election.”
