WWE Star-Turned-GOP Mayor Isn’t Backing Down on Tim Walz Wrestle Challenge

MAGA SMACKDOWN

Tennessee Mayor Glenn Jacobs, or “Kane” to his wrestling fans, says he’s “serious” about the challenge after Walz said he could “kick the a**” of Trump supporters.

A WWE Hall-of-Famer turned Republican Mayor of Tennessee‘s Knox County insists he’s “serious” about his challenge to get into the ring with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz after the former vice presidential hopeful said he could “kick the a--” of most MAGA supporters.

“He threw down the gauntlet, so I had to pick it up,” Glenn Jacobs, better known by his stage name “Kane,” said during a Friday appearance on NewsNation.

Walz had bragged about his apparent brawling capabilities during an earlier appearance on the Governor of California’s podcast, This Is Gavin Newsom, on Wednesday.

“I think I could kick most of their a--. I do think that. I know I can outrun them, but I don’t know if we’re going to fall into that place of, okay, we’re going to challenge you to a WWE fight type of thing,” as Walz put it to Newsom this week.

Jacobs, who first brought the challenge against Walz in an X post on Friday, says he already has a sponsor waiting in the wings for what he foresees would be a charity event, with the proceeds to be split between causes picked by both himself and his prospective opponent.

“All joking aside, [Walz], let’s put our money where our mouth is,” Jacobs wrote in his post, proposing to “kick things off” himself with a $10,000 donation to his chosen organization.

Given Jacobs’ record as a professional wrestler, the NewsNation host asked whether the WWE veteran would be willing to fight with one hand tied behind his back in order to level the playing field with Walz.

“We could figure out some stipulation to even the odds a little bit, because I think that he would be facing a huge uphill battle,” Jacobs replied.
