Actor Jan “J.P.” Patrick Schwieterman, who famously played a Nickelodeon villain, died last month aged 52, the New York Post reported. Schwieterman was battling cancer when he died at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri, on Feb. 28, according to his obituary. He is known for his role in the 1997 movie comedy Good Burger, in which he played antagonist Kurt Bozwell. His brother Chad Schwieterman confirmed the news in a Facebook post, writing: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my brother, Jan (JP) Schwieterman. He recently found out he had an aggressive form of stage 4 cancer.” He added: “Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this difficult time. Rest in peace, brother. We love you and miss you.” The actor’s obituary provides insight into who he was outside his craft, describing Schwieterman as someone who loved to travel and who was an “artist” of photography and painting. He also “studied martial arts and loved playing Dungeons and Dragons.” Schwieterman moved to Los Angeles right after high school, first appearing in small-screen guest roles in television shows like ER and Forever. From here, he went on to make his big Hollywood splash in Good Burger, playing the owner of a rival fast food joint opposite Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.
