Google responded to a series of Tuesday morning tweets in which President Trump claimed the search engine was purposefully promoting news critical of him. In a statement, the tech giant said “Search is not used set a political agenda and we don’t bias our results toward any political ideology.” Google said it tries to give users “the most relevant answers” to their queries. The president claimed that “Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out.” He threatened action against the company, writing “This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!”

Later, when asked by reporters whether there would be regulations against Google, National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow appeared open to the idea. He said “We’ll let you know. We’re taking a look at it.”
