North Dakota GOP Senate nominee Kevin Cramer called Christine Blasey Ford's attempted sexual-assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was “even more absurd” than Anita Hill's sexual harassment against late Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas because Kavanaugh and Ford were were drunk teenagers when the alleged incident happened, CNN reports. In a radio interview Friday, Cramer also said Ford's allegations were less legitimate than Hill's because it “never went anywhere.” “This case is even more absurd because these people were teenagers when this supposed alleged incident took place,” Cramer said on a local North Dakota radio show. “Teenagers. Not a boss-supervisor-subordinate situation, as the Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill situation was claimed to be. These are teenagers who evidently were drunk, according to her own statement. They were drunk. Nothing evidently happened in it all, even by her own accusation.” A campaign spokesman for Cramer, who is running against Democratic incumbent Heidi Heitkamp, did not respond to requests for comment. Heitkamp's seat is considered to be a vulnerable one for Democrats, and CNN reports that it is regarded as a “strong opportunity for Republicans to flip a seat.”
