What happened to hallowed ground? A new survey from Public Policy Polling shows that Republicans would prefer that a strip club be built near ground zero rather than a mosque. Twenty-one percent of Republicans said they’d be OK with a strip club near the site of the 9/11 attacks, but only 4 percent would accept a mosque. Preferences were flipped on the other side of the aisle, with 49 percent of Democrats supporting a mosque and 33 percent for the strip club. “This shows the extent and impact of the recent rise in anti-Islam rhetoric,” said Ibrahim Hopper, a spokesperson for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
