Greek authorities say there are “serious indications” the fires that have blazed in Grecian suburbs and killed 82 this week were arsons, according to ABC News. Greece’s public order minister, Nikos Toskas, said “satellite image analysis and ground inspections suggest the fires that simultaneously broke out in multiple places,” indicating that someone intentionally set fires in 22 locations outside Athens on Monday. “We have serious indications of criminal acts... lots of fires appeared in a very short period of time,” Toskas said. He also said a “suspicious find” was made in one of the villages but did not elaborate further. Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos also said authorities would be investigating illegally constructed buildings that were blocking exit routes at the time of the fires. Close to 200 were injured in the infernos, and over 1,000 homes were destroyed.
