Former NBA number one draft pick Greg Oden was arrested on Thursday after being accused of punching his ex-girlfriend. According to police, they arrived to find a woman lying facedown in her blood. An eyewitness who told them that Oden “punched her in the face.” Police also said the victim was uncooperative and said “she fell” but was “unable to advise when and where.” Police found blood on her, a swollen nose, lacerations on her forehead, blood on the floor and sofa, as well as a broken flower pot. According to the police report, Oden said, “Things got out of control and I started to go after the victim” and that “I was wrong and I know what has to happen.” Police said he was “calm, apologetic, and cooperative.”
