Guam elected its first female governor Tuesday evening, according to KUAM. After votes were reportedly counted in 67 precincts, Democrats Lou Leon Guerrero and Josh Tenorio were elected as governor and lieutenant governor of the U.S. island territory. Leon Guerrero’s ticket reportedly got 18,081 votes, or 50.7 percent of the vote. The election also represents a flip from red to blue, with Leon Guerrero slated to replace current GOP Gov. Eddie Calvo. Republican candidates Ray Tenorio and Tony Ada only received 9,419 votes, or about 26 percent of the vote. Write-in candidates reportedly got 8,161 votes, or around 22 percent of the vote.
