A man who was wanted by Los Angeles police led officers on a car chase, crashed outside a Trader Joe's and fled inside before surrendering by placing handcuffs on himself, the Los Angeles Police Department said on Twitter. A woman inside the Trader Joe's was struck by gunfire during the incident. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The LAPD reported that police had shot someone during the incident. It was not clear if the woman who died was shot by police or the suspect. The man, who has not been identified, was wanted for a shooting earlier in the day. After officers spotted the suspect, he led them on a chase in which he fired gunshots at police. The chase ended when the man crashed outside a Trader Joe's in Silver Lake. As officers fired shots at the man, he fled inside the grocery store. People could be seen fleeing the parking lot and from the store, taking cover from the bullets. The man barricaded himself inside the store for hours with people inside, before finally surrendering to police without incident, the LAPD said.
