Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who is serving a 10-year prison sentence for the killing of her mother, is engaged to a man who began writing to her after watching an HBO documentary about the case, People magazine reported. “They are very happy,” family friend Fancy Macelli said. “You can hear excitement in her voice.” In 2015, Blanchard enlisted her then-boyfriend to do away with her mother Dee Dee, who forced her to pretend she was terminally ill for years as part of Munchausen by proxy syndrome. The case was chronicled in the HBO doc Mommy Dead and Dearest and adapted for Hulu’s The Act.
