Harry and Meghan Open Their Home to Friends Fleeing Los Angeles Inferno
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have opened their palatial Montecito home to friends and loved ones who were forced to evacuate the L.A. fires, a source close to the couple told The Daily Beast Friday. The development was revealed after the couple used a post on their website to urge unaffected homeowners to provide shelter to individuals who had lost their properties in the devastating blazes sweeping the Californian city. “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do,” the post on their website read. “And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.” The source said the couple are now working through their Archewell Foundation to identify and implement the most impactful ways to support the community including working with José Andrés of the charity World Central Kitchen. The family have donated clothing, children’s items, and other essential supplies to those affected by the fires, The Daily Beast has been told. Meghan’s feel-good home and entertaining show is still currently slated to drop on Netflix next week.
