Chubb Limited, a large industrial and personal insurer, is refusing to pay Harvey Weinstein’s legal defense fees in 11 lawsuits, according to a court document filed on Wednesday. The insurer claims that it won’t pay Weinstein’s legal fees because his conduct was intentional, and his policies only cover fees “against claims of damage or injury caused accidentally.” The former head of Miramax, who has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by actresses, models, and co-workers, now faces a lawsuit brought by New York State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for “civil and human rights violations.” In total, over 70 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
