On January 11, Facebook announced that a new version of its algorithm plans to prioritize content from “friends and family” first in users’ timelines.
In other words, you can expect to see more posts from individual users (like your mom, cousin and high school classmate) and less from publishers, as the social media platform shifts to favoring “meaningful content,” in the words of Mark Zuckerberg.
Here’s an easy way to make sure you’ll keep seeing our stories and updates at the top of your Facebook feed.
If You’re on a Computer
If you aren’t already following our Facebook page, navigate to The Daily Beast’s Facebook page by clicking here, or by searching “The Daily Beast.”
On the main page, click the button that says “Follow.”

To 100 percent guarantee you’re receiving our news updates, hover over that “Follow” button, and select the option “See First” in your news feed.

If You’re on Mobile
This process is very similar to the one above. Navigate to our Facebook page in your Facebook app. Select “Follow.”

Once you tap on “Follow” (and even if you’re already following), a “Subscriptions” pane will pop up.
Swipe to “Get Notifications” and select “See First” in your news feed.

Now, you’re all set to receive The Daily Beast stories first in your feed.
See you online!
