Mariah Carey struggled to get through the first night of her tour in Japan over the weekend, with her voice seeming to give out at one point, TMZ reports. The pop diva kicked off her "Elusive Chanteuse" world tour in Tokyo and had trouble hitting the high notes she's famous for, said TMZ, which cited video of the event. The site also said that during some portions of the show Carey seemed to forget her lyrics. It conceded, however, that it might just have been that the singer's microphone gave out, since the stand broke during one song. Billboard also made note of Carey's difficulties, and Britain's Daily Mail newspaper reported some fans mocking the singer's Tokyo performance. There was no word yet from the Carey camp.
