Hillary Clinton has officially confirmed what many have suspected for weeks—that she has no plans to run in the 2020 election. “I’m not running, but I’m going to keep on working and speaking and standing up for what I believe,” Clinton told local New York station News 12. She went on to stress that she will still play an active role in politics and wants people to realize she’s “not going anywhere.” “What’s at stake in our country, the kind of things that are happening right now are deeply troubling to me. And I’m also thinking hard about how do we start talking and listening to each other again? We’ve just gotten so polarized.” Vowing to “help the Democrats win back the White House” in 2020, Clinton said she’d offer her assistance to Democratic candidates and had already held private meetings with some of them.
