It's true. Homeland is reentering our lives on September 29! And to get us amped up—or severely unsettled, whatever—Showtime has released the first official trailer for Season 3.
When we last saw the crew, bipolar CIA agent Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) and ex-U.S. Marine Sergeant turned terrorist Nicholas Brody (Damien Lewis) were toying with the idea of killing each other back in that damn cabin (but didn't), Carrie's boss, Saul (Mandy Patinkin) decided Carrie should be a station chief (she declined), and there was a tricky setup at terrorist Abu Nazir's burial with a messy car explosion. Brody's confession video leaked to news outlets, so he had to leave the country because everyone thinks he's a terrorist now (including his family). Luckily, Carrie was there to arrange everything and sent him off with soft eyes and a whimpering goodbye. Oh, and Brody’s teenage daughter, Dana, was her creepy self, covered in hair.
Here's what we can gather our favorite disturbed characters will be up to in 3 minutes and 11 seconds:
