
Itās that time of year again when PETA gives out its award for the sexiest male and female vegetarians in Hollywood. This year, the prize went to newly re-engaged Kristen Bell and beau Dax Shepard, though Dax abdicated his title, saying heād fallen off the vegetarian bandwagon. However, there are still plenty of celebrities who hold true to their meatless diet.

The country singer first grabbed the attention of audiences in 2005 as the fourth winner of American Idol, but Underwood first gave up meat as a child after seeing her parents castrating calves. Sheās since gone on to musical success and even nabbed PETAās sexiest veg title twice, once in 2005 and again in 2007. She lost out this year, but thereās no telling if she might nab a third win in the future.

Anne Hathaway can credit Catwoman to her newfound veganism and the perks that come with it. In an interview with USA Today, Hathaway said that she switched to a vegan diet to be able to fit into her snug Catwoman cat suit. āAfter I finished the rooftop fight, I ate four slices of pizza and split a bottle of red wine with my guy. I hadnāt eaten like that in months. I felt so ill. By the time the movie finished, I decided to give veganism a try. You canāt go hog-wild as a vegan.ā The results definitely show.

Grammy Award winner and actor Ne-Yo tweeted that in the New Year he resolved to go vegan. He asked his Twitter followers for vegan recipes and snack ideas and gives frequent updates on his progress with the vegan lifestyle. In February, he conceded that he needed the protein from fish to fuel his dance moves, but remained adamant about staying on track with everything else. āWent vegan for the new year mainly just to test my discipline,ā he tweeted. āBut after reading up on animal cruelty and what not, much more meaning to it.ā

This sexy ass-kicker is most known for her tough roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Dollhouse, but sheās got a soft spot when it comes to animals. Dushku announced that she was going vegan in 2011 after watching Forks Over Knives, a documentary that focuses on negative health effects of animal-based products and processed foods.

The list wouldnāt be complete without this yearās reigning queen of hot stars that eschew meat. Recently, Kristen Bell has been gearing up for the crowd-funded big screen adaptation of Veronica Mars, but she can take some time out to celebrate her win. Bell has been a vegetarian since age 14 and has held strong ever since with a carefully balanced diet of fruits and vegetables. āIām constantly monitoring how colorful the food on my plate is, which is a trick my mom taught me. I make sure to eat really dark power vegetables, like broccoli and kale,ā said Bell.

Who doesnāt love a British accent? Russell Brand was PETAās choice for sexiest vegetarian celebrity, representing the guys in 2011. During her marriage to Brand, Katy Perry went meat-less for two years at Brandās encouragement, but was ultimately unable to stick to the diet. The Daily Mail reported that even while on drugs, the long-time vegetarian still stayed away from meat. āāEven as a junkie I stayed true to vegetarianism. I shall have heroin, but I shanāt have a hamburger.ā Luckily, he doesnāt have to worry about that dilemma these days.

This stunning singer/songwriter won the third season of The X Factor in her native England in 2007 and has been busy since. Lewis is currently working on her fourth album and, like a few others on the list, is a former winner of the title, having been named PETAās sexiest celeb, as well as PETAās Person of the Year in 2008. Lewis has been a vegetarian since childhood, but recently went vegan in 2012. She continues to show love for her furry friends, even going so far as to turn down a Ā£1 million offer to open a sale at Harrods, due to the fact that the legendary London department store carries clothes made from animal products.

Jared Leto is one industrious veggie. He is the front man of band 30 Seconds to Mars, involved in Hugo Bossās fragrance Hugo Red, and is getting press for his upcoming role in Dallas Buyers Club. In an interview with British GQ, he credited his vegetarian diet as his personal fountain of youth. āIām pretty healthy so I think that helps a lot. Iāve been that way for a long timeā20 solid years of eating vegetarian/vegan and taking care of myself. That probably helps the preservation process.ā

Itās not often that vegetarianism finds its way into rap lyrics, but the topic has popped up a few times in the raps of Tyler the Creator, also known for his role in late-night sketch comedy show Loiter Squad. āMake sure you never meet again like goddamn vegans,ā he raps in his song āIFHY.ā Ouch.
