House Democrats on Friday introduced a first resolution censuring President Trump for his equivocating defense of neo-Nazis and white-nationalist groups following deadly violence in Charlottesville. âThe Presidentâs repulsive defense of white supremacists demands that Congress act to defend our American values," Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement endorsing the resolution, which was introduced by Reps. Jerry Nadler, Bonnie Watson Coleman, and Pramila Jayapal. âEvery day, the President gives us further evidence of why such a censure is necessary. Indeed, with each passing day, it becomes clearer that the Republican Congress must declare whether it stands for our sacred American values or with the President who embraces white nationalism,â her statement continued. âDemocrats will use every avenue to challenge the repulsiveness of President Trumpâs words and actions.â
