November 8 has finally come, and the election is underway. We’ve been checking in with voters nationwide on Twitter, and will be monitoring all day as America heads to the polls. This is what’s going on right now.

Two protesters were reportedly arrested after starting a demonstration in a New York polling place, while pundits worried about how the election might come down to just one state.

Voters began lining at polls nationwide in the early morning hours. While many voters said they had smooth access to the polls, reporters in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and New York reported various issues with long lines and malfunctioning ballot scanners.

As of midday, the presidential and vice-presidential candidates on both sides had cast their votes. Long lines persisted for some polling places, while many Trump and Hillary supporters shared their voting stickers on social media.
