Rare diseases present a unique challenge to Cure Hunters. Lack of awareness amongst physicians can mean an accurate diagnosis is difficult to obtain, and that’s only the beginning.

Rare diseases are challenging. Because there are fewer diagnosed cases, patients willing to share their experiences become essential to the scientists developing drugs. Pfizer’s Brenda Cooperstone rely on these patients, as their willingness to share helps people like her develop cures that could transform these peoples’ lives.
