A new report to be released Thursday by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction argues that the Afghan government cannot be trusted when it comes to the use of U.S. aid. Apparently the report is so devastating, officials worked assiduously to keep it from coming to light. In spite of the audit's findings, money has continued to be sent to Afghanistan. According to the report, not a single one of Afghanistan’s 16 ministries are seen as trustworthy in terms of funds being safe from theft or waste.
