Disney and Pixar’s superhero-family adventure Incredibles 2 shattered box office records over Father’s Day weekend, bringing in a whopping $180 million to win the best debut ever for an animated film. The film, featuring actors Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson, among others, also clinched the eighth-biggest domestic opening of all time, topping 2017’s Beauty and the Beast. The film’s success is widely seen as a morale booster for Disney after Solo: A Star Wars Story fell flat earlier this summer. The female-led heist flick Ocean’s 8 claimed second place in theaters in its second weekend with $19.6 million, while the R-rated comedy Tag landed in third with $14.6 million.
