Keith Soderquist, the mayor of Lake Station in northern Indiana, along with his wife and stepdaughter were indicted in federal court on Wednesday for allegedly using his campaign funds as well as the Lake Station Food Pantry account for gambling in Indiana and Michigan. They were also accused of failing to file accurate tax returns from 2010 to 2012. In addition, the mayor and his wife were indicted a second time, for allegedly helping an employee hide a theft from the city. That employee, Miranda Brakley, is the mayor’s stepdaughter.
