Former Love & Hip Hop personality Erica Mena threw shade and one serious accusation at rapper/actor Shad “Bow Wow” Moss this week, capping a public online melee with her ex-fiancé with one very loaded allegation: “I walked away silently,” she said of her recent breakup with Moss. “He’s an abuser.”
Mena and Moss waged a bitter social media war—on multiple platforms—after the reality star launched the first volley with a Dec. 10 sub-Snapchat video of herself saying, “Who wants to speed date when motherfuckers ain’t shit?”
The CSI: Cyber actor responded with relative gentlemanly restraint, by Internet standards: By posting photos of himself with the mother of his daughter, Joie Chavis:

Mena hit back online. “Just one photo can change this man life [sic]. Be smart & let it go. I did,” she wrote on Instagram. In another comment, she made more specific claims: “Now he can go back to beating her ass again. I’m good on dealing with his Little man complex.”
“I just pray the karma of his woman beating doesn’t effect his seed,” she added.
On Twitter, Mena intimated that she has incriminating evidence of Moss’ abusive behavior. “Don’t be bitter, I’m allowing you to collect what’s left of those CBS checks. I’m not showing the world who you really are. Be grateful for it,” she wrote before apparently deleting the Tweet.
Bow Wow, 28, has been in the business for quite some time. At the age of six, he was discovered rapping by Snoop Dogg, who blessed him with the stage name Lil’ Bow Wow. He released his Jermaine Dupri-produced debut album, Beware of Dog, at the tender age of 13, and would go on to release six more albums—most recently Underrated, which hit stores earlier this year to relatively little fanfare. He’s also starred in numerous movies, including Like Mike, where a pair of magical sneakers acquired from the Salvation Army allows him to play like Jordan, and as Twinkie in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.
As for his relationship with Mena, the pair had sparked breakup rumors and an early inkling of their penchant for public sparring back in August. In September, Mena disclosed on Instagram that she had miscarried the couple’s unborn child—a revelation that prompted scathing disapproval from Moss in the form of a video.
“First and foremost, I feel like telling your personal business on social media—I feel like that’s one of the lamest and corniest things you possibly can do,” said Moss. “I feel like it’s attention seeking, especially when it’s news that happened five months ago. It’s not recent, it’s five months ago.”
For her part, Chavis denied that Moss had ever physically abused her… by taking to the comments section of a gossip blog’s Instagram post, naturally. “Beat? When? Where? I NEVER say anything but this shit is just unacceptable, and ridiculous to say the least. Shad has never laid a finger on me, so dead it!”
In addition to the current drama, just last year Bow Wow found himself the subject of gossip blogs when his ex-girlfriend, Ayisha Diaz, released abusive text messaged allegedly from Bow Wow. And the year before that, nude photos of the rapper found their way online.
Speaking with Global Grind, the reality star and model expanded on the war of words she waged on Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat with Moss, who in 2012 claimed to be broke after a court ordered him to pay $3,000 a month in child support (he later denied being broke). “I never wanted [his] business out there,” Mena told Global Grind after the dustup. “I feel like people have seen me on reality TV having to fight, but at this point in my life, I deserve peace. I’m in a different place now. When it comes to Shad, this is the man I at one point really considered marrying. He is the one I decided to say yes to, but once the mask came off, I realized I had made a bad choice.”
