Israel was accused of targeting journalists on Friday after several reporters were injured during an attack on the Nuseirat refugee camp, according to CNN. Two journalists from the Turkish outlet TRT, Sami Shehada and Sami Barhoum, were among those wounded. Shehada, whose foot was amputated, said he and other journalists wearing clearly marked PRESS jackets were “targeted” by IDF forces. “It will not stop me from working, even if I have to walk on crutches,” Shehada told CNN stringer Mohammad Al-Sawalhi, who was also injured in the attack. “I will show the whole world the crimes of the Israeli occupation against civilians, people and journalists. I am one of them and I will not leave my camera even if I die,” he said from his stretcher. The outlet TRT accused Israel of launching “a deliberate attack against media professionals,” arguing that it was “part of broader pattern of violence against the press.” Ninety five journalists have been killed in Israel’s brutal military campaign in Gaza.
