President John F. Kennedy’s only grandson, Jack Schlossberg, took aim at President Donald Trump as thousands of documents relating to the 1963 assassination were released, saying the Republican is “only interested in JFK’s carcass.”
The 32-year-old writer and political correspondent took to X on Wednesday morning to rebuke the response to the release of the files by the Trump administration a day earlier. Schlossberg claimed that Trump and his own cousin, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., are “obsessed” with JFK’s demise.
“President Trump is obsessed with my grandfather—but not in his life or what he achieved in it. No, just like @robertfkennedyjr @realdonaldtrump is only interested in JFK’s carcass,” Schlossberg wrote.
The pair are “appropriating the past for their criminal agenda,” he added, and sullying the memory of JFK. “JFK drafted the civil rights act—Trump made DEI illegal. JFK stared down Russia and did not blink—Trump is Russia’s closest ally. JFK sent a man to the moon—Trump gave Elon the keys to Air Force One. JFK created USAID—Trump eliminated it," Schlossberg wrote.
He continued: “JFK fought fascism and Communism. Trump is selling us out to tech warlords, at home and abroad. JFK stood behind unions and labor, demanding healthcare, higher pay. Trump is stripping working families from lifesaving care, financial support.
“JFK celebrated the arts and culture. Trump attacks artist’s identities, took over the Kennedy center just to empty it out and pave it gold.”
Schlossberg was also irritated by reporting on the release of the files. He seemed particularly perturbed that CNN would give the news airtime, saying in a video posted Tuesday: “You’re better than this, this is so f---ing stupid. There’s so much actual news going on, why are you covering this? At least report that something happened.”
“I love you, Harry Enten, you’re really smart,” he said as the CNN political analyst popped up on the network’s coverage playing on a screen behind him. “Why are you guys covering this? I love you, Erin Burnett, you’re really smart. Why are you covering this? Stop! This is why this s--t takes hold, because you guys f---ing cover it over and over and over again.”
He made that point in a written message minutes before his sweary video. “Hey ALL NEWS NETWORKS. CNN, MSNBC, WHATEVER... you don’t need to cover the fake JFK documents story. Especially when there’s so much real news…” he wrote.
After his clip, Schlossberg said the Trump administration had not given anyone in his family a “heads up” about the impending release of the files before this week. “A total surprise, and not shocker!! But @RobertKennedyJr definitely knew,” he wrote.
Tagging the Trump ally in another post, Schlossberg, the son of former U.S. Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, added: “Go through the documents and tell us if you were right or if you’re still lying.”
“WHAT THE JFK FILES SAY ABOUT ME IS NOT TRUE. IM STRAIGHT,” he added in a bizarre follow-up post Tuesday evening before a nine-hour pause before his posts about how Trump is “obsessed” by his grandfather’s death.
In his X blitz, Schlossberg also fired off at Republican Sen. Mike Lee for a post saying: “Why did it take so long to release the JFK files?”
Sharing Lee’s post, Schlossberg wrote: “You really care about JFK’s legacy? You’re dismantling it. Go ask Bobby for a retweet.”
He also attacked conservative talking head Charlie Kirk and challenged him to go on his YouTube show for a debate about the file release. He also went after his personal appearance.
“(To clarify) In my opinion Charlie Kirk @charliekirk11 may have been born with a rare condition that makes you so severely unattractive... That you end up becoming a right wing media personality. And that’s just good for the world,” he wrote.
Schlossberg has often slammed conservative media personalities with unfiltered and sometimes crude takes. He attacked podcaster Joe Rogan on Monday as Trump prepared to release the assassination files.
“Hey, Joe Rogan, what’s up, you short f---?” Schlossberg asked. “Are you going to go through all the JFK assassination files tomorrow with your little butt buddy Bobby?” he said, referring to his cousin. “You better, after you spread all those lies? You’re not going to go make sure that they’re true?”
