Jake Paul has angered the gods. Heading back to Puerto Rico in his private jet over the weekend, the YouTube star encountered some stormy weather, with a new video capturing him and his entourage reacting hysterically to what they said was lightning striking the plane. In the video, posted to his Instagram, Paul can be seen gripping a cabin panel. “We woke up the gods of war—[there’s] lighting on the plane, brother. Zeus—” he says, before a jolt causes him to cry out and fold his hands in prayer. “Oh, shit! Zeus, I love you brother.” The jet passed through the turbulence and Paul landed unharmed, back home a week after a pair of press conferences hosted to promote his forthcoming fight with Mike Tyson. After a lighthearted face-off in New York City prompted speculation the July bout is rigged, the boxers set the record straight with a more serious presser in Arlington, Texas. The Arlington event wasn’t without its oddities, however, including a moment where Tyson confessed he’d once had “an erection” watching a teenaged Paul “doing a little dance on YouTube.” The awkward moment hasn’t swayed the legendary boxer’s diehard fans, however, with one commenting under Paul’s plane video that the lightning strike constituted the “first hit” from Tyson.
