Democratic strategist James Carville said no one cares about former President Joe Biden because of his “terrible” last act.

In the Thursday episode of his Politics War Room podcast, Carville added that Biden has no one to blame for his irrelevance but himself.

“What he’s done to himself is, no one wants to hear from this guy anymore, OK?” said Carville. “Just go to your condo in Rehoboth and stay there.”

And according to Carville, not wanting to hear from Biden anymore doesn’t mean “we’re bad people or we’re mean people.” He added, “It was all his doing, all his doing, this entire thing.”

After a catastrophic debate performance that shed a blaring spotlight on Biden’s ability to handle another term last June, the former president was iced out by his party and pushed by the likes of Nancy Pelosi and others to drop out of the presidential race. He ultimately did a month later.

While his age and health became regular talking points over the next few months, Biden remained adamant about his belief that he could have defeated Trump—even while Harris was actively campaigning.

Her loss sparked outrage among Democrats who largely blamed Biden for not dropping out sooner, subsequently detracting from the time they could have spent on her campaign.

Carville, for his part, was one of many Democrats who believed that Harris would win. After her loss, he pinned her loss on a failed “economic narrative” in an editorial for the New York Times.

Despite leaving his office with an approval rating that matched the lowest of his term, Biden still insisted he could have defeated Trump during his exit interview with USA Today.
