In the ping-pong game of immense wealth, Jeff Bezos is champion again, dethroning Elon Musk as the world’s richest person. So reports The Wall Street Journal, which says the Amazon founder’s net worth reached a cool $200 billion—equivalent to roughly the gross domestic product of the entire nation of Greece— on Monday. Musk, meanwhile, could only boast of being worth about $198 billion. Bezos had not been in the top spot since 2021, but Musk’s net worth took a hit this year with shares of his car company Tesla losing a quarter of their value. In third place on the richest list is Bernard Arnault of luxury conglomerate LVMH, who is currently worth $197 billion. Musk, who spent $44 billion of his fortune buying Twitter and renaming it X, taunted Bezos on social media when he fell to second place in 2021, but Bezos has not commented on his own ascendence.
