Jeremy Allen White wants to trade in his Calvin Klein boxer briefs for some faded Levi’s and a T-shirt. The Bear star is reportedly in talks to play Bruce Springsteen in an upcoming biopic titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, based on a book by the same name that chronicles The Boss’ making of the album Nebraska. Springsteen recorded the acoustic songs as demos in his bedroom on a four-track cassette and then released it as his sixth studio album in 1982; many fans consider it his masterpiece. Deadline reports that Springsteen is very involved in the film project. Scott Cooper, who recently directed The Pale Blue Eye for Netflix, plans to write and direct the flick, which might be picked up by A24, according to The Hollywood Reporter. White—who has won two Golden Globes, an Emmy, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards—would be available to shoot after he wraps up Season 4 of The Bear in June.
