‘Jersey Shore’ Star Michael ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino Indicted for Tax Fraud

Former reality-TV star Michael “The Situation” Sorrentino and his brother Marc were indicted Friday on additional tax-related charges including tax evasion, structuring, and falsifying records. The pair were previously indicted in 2014 on tax offenses, but the superseding indicment returned today in New Jersey federal court added the new charges. The indictment alleges that the two businesses the brothers set up to take advantage of his minor celebrity status conspired to defraud the U.S. government by not paying all federal income tax owed; filed false tax returns with underreported figures and fraudulent deductions; and allegedly comingled funds from their personal and business bank accounts to pay for luxury personal items.
