Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson are divorcing after 10 years of marriage, having navigated what Simpson described in a statement to TMZ as a “painful situation.” The pair, who have been living separately, were recently photographed without their wedding bands. Simpson also talked about a “comeback” in a not-so-subtle Instagram post in November from Nashville, where she has been recording new music. The caption said her new work was an “apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.” TMZ reports that it was shortly after this post that someone associated with Simpson reached out to a Los Angeles divorce attorney. Johnson, a former NFL player, and singer-actress Simpson started dating in 2010, and got married in the summer of 2014. They have three children together, aged between 5 and 12. Simpson said in the statement, “Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them.”
