News of the event scheduled for the end of the month comes amid a moment of acute pressure on President Joe Biden’s campaign, with Democratic lawmakers openly calling for him to drop out of the race. Some lawmakers reportedly claim the president—who has so far rebuffed calls to abandon his campaign—could drop out as soon as this weekend.
