British singer Joe Cocker, best known for his cover of the Beatles’ “With a Little Help from My Friends” and his performance at Woodstock has died of lung cancer at age 70. Cocker began his career in the 1960s in the city of Sheffield and became a household name when his Beatles cover hit No. 1 on the charts. His agent, Barrie Marshall, said Cocker was “simply unique” and that “it will be impossible to fill the space he leaves in our hearts.”
