Former Impractical Jokers star Joe Gatto has responded to the sexual assault allegations made against him by a young woman earlier this week, releasing a statement that reads, “I have used poor judgment and as a result have violated the trust of the people I love most.“ He continued, ”But anyone who knows me at all knows full well that I wouldn’t assault anyone. Working on myself is an ongoing process, and I am now going to take some time away from the public eye to focus my energies where I need to.” The young woman took to TikTok to share the details of her experiences with the actor/comedian, who abruptly left his hit show in 2022, citing personal issues. She revealed that Gatto gave her free tickets to his comedy show after meeting her and her family in a restaurant; they continued to communicate via Instagram, where he later invited her to his hotel room. What she experienced there, she wrote, “change[d] how she views ALL famous people for the rest of her life.”
