John Boehner on Ted Cruz: ‘Lucifer Is Back’

“Lucifer is back,” John Boehner said after viewing Ted Cruz’s Wednesday night Republican National Convention speech, according to the former House speaker’s press rep. The insult was a reference to Boehner’s claim, back in April, that the Texas senator is “Lucifer in the flesh” and a “miserable son of a bitch.” Cruz spoke before the GOP convention on its third night, but received hefty boos for refusing to endorse Donald Trump—whom Boehner has called “a friend”—and later said he refuses to become the GOP candidate’s “servile puppy.”
