Jonathan Van Ness, a host on Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, is a “monster” to work with, according to an explosive new report from Rolling Stone. The magazine spoke with seven sources about the host’s behavior, all of whom said the star was known to go off on members of the cast and crew. Three sources described the television star using words like “monster,” and “nightmare,” and “demeaning.” Three said the show’s charismatic hair stylist was emotionally abusive, and had “rage issues.” Despite Van Ness’ charming persona, their volatile behavior allegedly contributed to the rift between the hosts. “There were times when we couldn’t even shoot scenes with certain members of the Fab Five together because it got so bad,” one production member said. According to those who work with Van Ness, their behavior is antithetical of what they preach on the show. “They’re really centered around having this warmth, love, and care for other people. There’s a real contrast between that and the way that they treat the people who are closest to them across the board,” one source said.
