Jose Canseco Offers to Buff Up ‘Twinkie’ Trump as Chief of Staff

Donald Trump’s attempts to fill his vacant chief of staff role are getting desperate, but maybe not this desperate. Jose Canseco—the former MLB superstar, Bash Brother, and Celebrity Apprentice contestant—has offered to take up the role, saying he wants to help the president because he's concerned that Trump is looking increasingly “like a Twinkie.” “Hey little buddy @realDonaldTrump u need a bash brother for Chief [of] Staff,” wrote Canseco is the small hours of Thursday morning. “Got a secret reorg plan already. Also worried about you looking more like a Twinkie everyday. I will buff you up daily workouts. DM me.” It’s not clear if the president has slid into Canseco’s DMs. Current Chief of Staff John Kelly will leave the role soon and Trump is still looking for a successor, having turned down Rep. Mark Meadows for the job. It’s not the first time Canseco has offered his services to the president—in June, he tweeted: “Hey little buddy @realDonaldTrump I am ready to be a starfleet commander in the space force. Dm me.”
