Joyce Mitchell, a former prison employee who admitted to helping convicted killers David Sweat and Richard Matt escape from a New York jail, has been sentenced to serve at least two years and four months in prison. “You did terrible things,” Judge Kevin K. Ryan said. “At any time, you could have stopped the escape from happening.” Mitchell could serve up to seven years in jail.
