Could Ashley Judd—the actress who famously graced the cover of Kentucky’s 1988 hockey calendar wearing nothing but an oversized jersey—have inadvertently followed a career path that reflects the fortunes of her beloved Wildcats? The Daily News likens Judd’s screen roles to the basketball team’s coaching carousel, leading with “Crossing Over” (2009), or, as the News puts it, “What [new coach John] Calipari told the Memphis administration when it made overtures to keep him.” Then there's "Someone Like You” (2001): “What Calipari is telling nationally-ranked players Xavier Henry, Nolan Dennis and DeMarcus Cousins (all committed to Memphis) he wants in Lexington.” Unfortunately for UK fans, Judd is not slated to make a movie called “National Championship” anytime soon.
