Judge on El Chapo Case Shot, Killed During Jog

The judge who presided over notorious gangster Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman's case was shot and killing while jogging on Monday, according to multiple reports. Judge Vicente Bermudez Zacarias, 37, was killed near his home in Metepec, near Mexico City. The shooter reportedly fled the scene, and Zacarias died at a local hospital shortly afterward. He allegedly wasn't given any protection during the course of the case, despite the highly violent nature of the Mexican cartels involved with Guzman’s case.
