Judi Dench burst into tears after being asked about her late friend Maggie Smith at a festival in Cheltenham, England, The Times reported. British acting icons Judi Dench and Maggie Smith first met at a theater in London in the 1950s and starred together in films such as the 1985 romance A Room With a View and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. After being asked by fellow actor Brendan O’Hea about her grief, Dench is said to have become emotional. “I suppose the energy that’s created by grief...” she began to say before becoming teary. She was unable to share more about her friend, but she revealed that trees in her garden were planted in memory of her deceased friends. During her appearance at the festival, she performed soliloquies from Shakespeare and did a funny impression of a seagull.
