The Justice Department's inspector general on Thursday sent a criminal referral for former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washinton, D.C., CNN reported based on sources familiar with the matter. Last week, the inspector general reported that McCabe “repeatedly misled” investigators and authorized aides to leak to a Wall Street Journal reporter information about internal FBI-DOJ dealings regarding a Clinton Foundation probe—despite having previously told investigators he never authorized it and “did not know who did.”
