Rapper Kanye West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts have been deleted as of Saturday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. While this is not the first time the rapper has disappeared from the social media platforms, his latest departure comes as he was criticized for supporting President Trump during his Saturday Night Live appearance and for saying the 13th Amendment should be abolished. The 13th Amendment, ratified in 1865, states that “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude… shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.” West later clarified his tweet, claiming he wanted to see the Amendment changed because he thought it was “slavery in disguise” and it “never ended” slavery. Actor Chris Evans slammed West for his thoughts on the amendment. “There’s nothing more maddening than debating someone who doesn’t know history, doesn’t read books, and frames their myopia as virtue,” Evans wrote on Twitter. Singer Lana del Rey also condemned West’s support of President Trump, writing in an Instagram comment that his endorsement of the president was “a loss for the culture.”
