Brett Kavanaugh and Christine Blasey Ford may not be interviewed in the FBI’s week-long probe into the allegations of sexual misconduct against the Supreme Court nominee, according to The Wall Street Journal. Ford claims that she has not been contacted by the FBI since the week-long ceasefire was announced, suggesting that she and Kavanaugh may fall outside the scope of the probe. Michael Avenatti’s client Julie Swetnick is also expected to be excluded. Much of the confusion comes from the vague wording of the Friday statement from the Senate Judiciary Committee, which the Journal reports was left intentionally unclear because GOP senators had not yet reached an agreement. And although the Trump administration has claimed it has not restricted the FBI, many Democratic senators have decried what they perceive to be a limited investigation.“[All three accusers] all came forward with credible reports,” said Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI). “They all said they would be willing to talk to the FBI. The only person that didn’t want an FBI investigation, frankly, was Judge Kavanaugh.”
