The Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday voted on party lines to send the nomination of Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh to the Senate floor, after a tense moment in which Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) asked to delay the floor vote for up to a week in order to allow for an FBI inquiry into the sexual-assault claims against Kavanaugh. “This country is being ripped apart here,” Flake said. “We’ve got to make sure that we do due diligence.”
